IMBC February Updates

Progress of the New Aquarium - and other noteworthy items

The recent stormy weather in Crete has done little to slow the steady rise of the Cretaquarium, just opposite the new IMBC building. Below you can see the transformation of the site in just eight short weeks from the laying of the foundation stone on 14th December.

We will keep you posted as the site construction goes on.

Greek Presidency events can be seen on two websites, one of which deals specifically with Research and Development events and the other which has a more general overview.

We promised an update on the MERAMED project and here is an interesting article which appeared in December.

A REMINDER: there have been quite a few changes to the Greek telephone system over the past year. The number 2 has been introduced as the initial digit in all Greek telephone numbers. A zero (0) was also introduced at the end of each city code. This means that the code for Athens is + 30210… Likewise, the code for Heraklion is +302810….

The IMBC telephone number (new installations) is shown correctly on our contact pages for each listed individual (Secretariat: +302810 337806).

But that’s not all. Greek cell phone numbers have also changed with the number 6 being introduced as the initial digit of every cell phone number.

The GSRT publishes some details concerning the scientific evaluations which took place in all its 14 scientific institutes in 2000.
