Professional Experience

• 1987 - to date. Participation and coordination of research projects carried out by the Fisheries Department of the Institute of Marine Biology of Crete and the Fisheries Research Laboratory of the University of Crete.
• 2000 – 2003: Research Scientist Grade C
• 2003- to date: Research Scientist Grade B

Other relevant activities / experience

• Member of the Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF) in DG XIV of the European Commission.
• Member of the EU group of indepedent experts dealing with the preparation of the fourth generation multi-annual guidance programmes for the Community fishing fleets.
• Rapporteur of the ICCAT group dealing with the Mediterranean swordfish stock
