Laboratory facilities

There are three laboratories available to carry out the work of the department:

  • The phytoplankton and microbial ecology laboratory. Equipment available:
    • epifluorescent microscopes
    • scintillation counter
    • spectrofluorometer
  • Benthos and particle flux laboratory. Equipment available:
    • microscopes, balances, splitters
    • sediment traps (Technicap PPS3)
  • Marine technology laboratory. Equipment available:
    • benthic Lander
    • acoustic releases
    • floats
    • current meters
    • deep-sea cameras
