Abstract
Three methods were used for age validation 1) Marginal increment
analysis (M.I.A.) of 2614 monthly sampled otoliths, 2) Length
frequency distribution analysis (LFDA) in a unique sample of 1646
individuals, and 3) Comparison of averaged back calculated lengths at
age (B.C.L.A.) from otolith and scale age readings with the mean
observed lengths at age in a post stratified sample of 250 specimens.
