The Federation of Greek Maricultures since its establishment in 1991 has been active in promoting the Greek fishfarming sector, in particular in formulating policies and forging links with national and EU bodies with the aim of providing support to the sector.

It participates in a number of national and international projects, covering a variety of different topics:

FGM has been working with HEPO to establish a quality trade mark for sea bream and sea bass farmed in Greece. A further QUALITY ASSURANCE SCHEME has been funded by PESCA. A marketing campaign for bream and bass with a 1.2 million ECU budget has been carried out over the last two years funded by the Greek Ministry of Agricultural the EU and FGM.
