Our group at the University of East London pioneered
the presentation of taxonomic databases on the internet.
Our web site is at http://ibs.uel.ac.uk/ibs and contains
descriptive and occurrence data for vascular plants,
fish, mammals and fossils. Databases at different sites
can be searched from our server and presented as reports
and maps. Interactive programmes enable the data retrieved
to be used to calculate rates of evolution and other
features.
