Akin</B><I><P> Karadeniz Technical University, Faculty of Marine Science, Trabzon, Turkey</I><P> Abstract<P> South Eastern Black Sea coasts are considered as study area. The purpose of study is to determine the wind induced upwelling in the region . Mean monthly (1930 1990) wind speed data was used to calculate the surface current which are suitable upwelling events. The results show that the wind stress is not suitable to occurrence of upwelling in the region.<P>
