MARINE INGREDIENTS: challenges to their use in aquafeeds

Abstract
This presentation provides a brief review of the current and projected use of marine ingredients in aquafeeds, based on an FAO study in which the author has been involved. It also introduces the challenges which the use of marine resources create for the intensive farming of carnivorous aquatic animals, in order to stimulate discussion within the context of responsible aquaculture.
