Fine-strand resistance wires are double insulated with braided fiberglass and knitted into flat tapes. Tapes are then completely enclosed in high-strength, high-temperature-resistant silicone rubber. Rubber is extruded for void-free encapsulation. Rubber resists moisture and solvents-see our Chemical Resistance Charts on pages 1260-1268. Silicone rubber-insulated lead wires extend 2 feet from both ends of the tape. No ties.
Tapes come with 2-ft long insulated lead wires emerging from opposite ends to simplify connection to power source . The 120 VAC tapes have integrally molded separable plugs (see inset on facing page); the 240 VAC models do not include plug. Shpg wt for all tapes is less than 1.0 lb (0.5 kg).
