This viscometer is extremely easy to use; first fill the tube with sample, then invert tube. Next, restore tube to nornal position, turn the knob to release the ball, and then simply measure the time of descent. The ball moves against a white background with red reference lines making it easy to read. Repeatability with good technique varies from ±0.2 to ±1.0%, depending upon time of descent. Viscometers require a 7-mL sample volume.
Viscometers have wetted materials of glass, Viton®, and Delrin® acetal. PTFE O-rings are available for use with lquids that adhere to Viton®; call our Applications Specialists for more information.
What's Included:
one glass and one 316 stainless steel (SS) high-precision ball. For higher viscosity ranges, use the optional tantalum ball (sold separately).
Hot Tips:
NT falling ball viscometers conform to ASTM D 1343-93.
