Replace roller bottles and shake flasks with these systems! The MicroFlask is used for cell culture and microbial cultivation and uses microtiter plates for easy operation, flexibility, and reproducible results. The benefits of this system include no well-to-well cross-contamination, low and uniform evaporation rates, well-to-well reproducibility and excellent gas transfer to each culture. Stackable design allows for up to four plates under each clamp, allowing flexibility for your research.

For microbial cultures, bioreactors with microbial cultivations can require an air supply of up to two working volumes per minute. The MicroFlask sandwich covers allow for a headspace refreshment rate of 1 to 2 culture volumes per minute. This refreshment rate secures oxygen concentrations of at least 18% (v/v), even with oxygen uptake rates of 40 mmol 02/L-1 min-1.

For cell cultures, the MicroFlask permits optimal gas transfer, and also minimizes evaporation from your plate. You can grow cells several weeks in a single plate without contamination! Deep-well plates constructed of high-purity polystyrene are ideal for cell culture applications.

System setup is easy. The clamp mounts to your existing orgital shaking platform and securely holds microtiter plates in place. Orbital shaking platforms are ideal because this motion will increase the gas-liquid transfer, to provide uniformity in conditions across each well. These sandwich covers have re-usable layers. They include a stainless steel lid for rigid support, a microfiber cotton layer, ePTFE (0.3 µm pores) layer for sterility, and a soft silicone layer to seal the system. All components can handle repeated autoclaving.
What's Included:
a gas-tight box for surrounding your plates with a custom atmosphere; excellent for biofuel applications! Use the cryo-replicator to sample from 96 frozen glycerol stocks. The glycerol stocks can remain frozen and viable for years. Use the replicator press for easy inoculation and replication of your cultures — ensuring accuracy during the replication sets of strains.
