Cole-Parmer offers a range of viscometers in both portable and benchtop formats for use in laboratories or on-site measurements to measure both Newtonian or non-Newtonian fluids.
Use Cole-Parmer viscometers to measure the viscosity of various fluids including adhesives, paints, lubricating oils, varnishes, pastes, gels, syrups and candy coatings among other applications.
The different types of viscometer products offered by Cole-Parmer are;
- Falling ball viscometers
- Glass capillary viscometers
- Tuning fork vibration viscometers
- Rotational viscometers
- Portable viscometers
- Viscosity cups
- Consistometer
- Disposable viscometers
Our falling ball viscometers are ideal for routine plant quality control checks and research laboratory applications. Tuning fork vibration viscometers provide superior accuracy while our rotational viscometers accurately determine viscosity according to ISO 2555 and ASTM standards. The portable viscometers are small and battery operated for quick field tests and comparative measurements while the viscosity cups are an easy and economical way to measure viscosity.
A viscometer is used to measure the viscosity of a fluid under defined flow conditions. The different types of viscometry instruments have either the fluid stationary and let the object pass through the fluid or vice-versa. Hence these instruments measure the drag caused by the interaction between the fluid and the object surface.
