Tubing, and Hose

Tubing is an essential component to any fully functioning industrial system. Tubing is necessary to connect your pump to a tank, or transfer from one vessel to another. Tubing is often forgotten, but is just as critical as a pump, valve, or filter.
Selecting the proper tubing for your fluid depends on chemical resistance, temperature, pressure, and any applicable regulatory standards. For aggressive chemicals, choose rigid fluoropolymer tubing such as PFA or PTFE; for cell culture, choose tubing made from silicone or elastomer that meets USP Class VI requirements. For higher pressures, reinforced tubing is also available. When conditions require a rugged tube that is durable and can handle rough handling, a hose is the best choice.
Connecting fluid line elements requires the right fittings, and like tubing, connectors come in many materials to meet your exact needs. For softer flexible tubing, use fittings with hose barb connections; the soft tubing material relaxes behind the barb lip to create a seal. Rigid tubing, on the other hand, will not seal properly with a hose barb and instead requires a compression fitting.
