Test Tubes

A glass test tube is a staple of any research laboratory. But selecting the appropriate glass test tube for your workplace is not as easy as it may seem. You can choose a glass test tube from a wide array. There are test tubes specialized for centrifugation, PCR, culturing, storing, and even NMR. For centrifugation there are hematocrit, filtration/concentration, microcentrifuge, conical and round bottom, as well as reusable, glass and sterile tubes. You can also pick up additional centrifuge bottles, and corresponding sealing caps and closures. For polymerase chain reaction or PCR, pick up a glass test tube that is made from pure plastics and is pyrogen free. Choose from PCR strips, single PCR tubes, or microwell plates. For culture tubes try names brands such as Kimble®, Nunc,Pyrex, Thermo Scientific, and Corning. Choose from glass or plastic depending on your needs. You’ll also need storage equipment so that means buying racks and other organizational products to keep your lab clean.
