Motors

Faced motors are among the most common motors in installations. We offer a wide selection of faced motors, including an extensive selection of standard NEMA frame motors, to suit your application. IEC
configurations are also available.

Motor Types:

DC Motors are used in a variety of variable-speed applications.

Air Motors are inherently intrinsically safe due to lack of electrical power. Air motors, however, are not as efficient as electric motors. By controlling sourced air, motors offer variable speed control. Not all locations have source air available. If you need a compressed air source, see our ¡°Compressors¡± offerings.

AC Motors come in two versions¡ªsingle and three-phase powered. Single-phase power is available in residential and commercial locations, and is suitable for fixed-speed applications. Three-phase power enables you to get variable-speed control with an appropriate controller. We recommend that you consult a qualified electrician for any electrical installation.

Motor Enclosures
Open Drip-Proof (ODP) Motors have open enclosures, suitable for indoor use and clean atmospheres. The ventilator openings are constructed to prevent liquids and solids from entering the machine from an angle of 0 to 15¡ã from vertical.

Totally Enclosed, Fan-Cooled (TEFC) Motors are equipped with an external fan to circulate outside air to the motor.

Totally Enclosed, Nonvented) (TENV) Motors are designed without air openings. Although air does not freely move between the inside and outside of the motor, construction is not air- or liquid-tight.

Washdown (WDN) Enclosures are great for applications in environments where frequent cleaning or sanitizing is necessary. Provided in both white epoxy and stainless steel construction.

Explosion-Proof (XPRF) Motors are totally enclosed and designed to withstand an internal explosion of gas or vapor¡ªmotor frame will not burst or rupture. Use for safe operation in hazardous locations.
