Fluorometers

A spectrofluorometer is a category of spectroscopy instruments that measures the intensity and wavelengths of fluorescence in a sample after excitation. Excitation (and the resultant fluorescence) in a sample is caused by exposure to a specific spectrum of light; thus a spectrofluorometer typically has both a light source that is used to excite the sample, as well as a method of detecting and measuring the light that is generated by the excited sample.
